I have been browsing the site for a couple of days now and find the post informative and mostly reassuring. I am sched. for TVH 8/5/03 and am experiencing a variety of emotions from fear to relief that the pain and humiliation is almost at an end. Thank you all for this wonderful site. I will continue to browse and post questions as they arise.

Good Luck with your surgery. I can tell you from my own experience this website helped me through a very difficult time. I had questions and was worried and I read what others where going through. It really did help, the waiting is truly the hardest part. Again, good luck.

Thank you Obie for your reply. I also am so filled with questions that I do not really know what to ask or where to start. This waiting seems so hard (I keep trying to remind myself that I have been waiting far longer for relief). I guess that I am just being silly but I feel so overwhelmed. Things like with my sex life stay the same, will the pain return after surg., will I gain weight, and all thats on top of all the typical surgical questions. I hope that reading posts and corrisponding on this site will be as great of a help to me as it appears to have been for so many others.

Hi jkm,

Welcome to Hyster Sisters!!

While I'm sorry that you are facing surgery, I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself.

Before I forget, please go back into your control panel and add your surgery date to your profile so you'll be on the calendar for August 5th and will receive a special greeting from HS.

While you're waiting, please be sure to read the Pre-Op Hints (click here) and the Post-Op Hints (click here). They may answer some of the questions that you have, and they are full of great advice that will help you to prepare for your surgery and recovery.

I hope you'll continue to read and will post any questions that you may have - we'll do our best to help.
