Gas pains 4 weeks post hysterectomy

I am 4 weeks post op for daVinci surgery and was doing well. All of a sudden in the last few days I have had terrible gas pains and difficulty with bowel movements. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi,I posted somewhere about the intense bowel movement spasms as well as passing gas.For me either felt the same,so I'd be up and down to the loo(mostly for gas)or nothing.I've just had a one week check up,and was reassured its inflammation and tenderness,and will become better with time.Wow,at first I thought I was having birth contractions!the pain was so bad!Now I know better.Hang in there sister.

Yes. I'm six weeks out and gas pains still hurt pretty bad at times. My Dr recommended for me to take Miralax ( not sure if I spelled it right ). It really helped me a lot and it's a power you mix with any drink. It's not a laxative which is good. I also stocked up on gas x. Helped a little. Hope that helps.

I know exactly how you feel!! I wasn't lucky enough to have found this site when mine started and my dr wasn't very informative before hand so I ended up going to a different hospital to find out what it was, in my case it was a lazy bowl which the dr informed me can happen with any abdominal surgery he told me to take lax a day for a week or 2 I took it for a few days and I haven't had any trouble since. I hope this helps

Thanks so much sisters. I had called my doctor with the gas complaints and the nurse said it didn't have anything to do with surgery, but we know better . Took the gasx n feel better already!
