clothing after a LSH

So with 25 days till surgery I was wondering what type of clothing I should have on hand afterwards? I have some yoga pants but mostly I wear jeans which I know I won't want to wear afterwards.

Re: clothing after a LSH

I lived in oversized pajama bottoms and big T-shirts. I know that others have worn sleep shirts, even though they aren't my thing. I wear yoga pants now that I am leaving the house. My jeans aren't comfortable at all yet. The important thing is making sure that what you wear comes over your incision, and that it's loose enough to be comfy. You are going to have swelly belly at the very beginning and then later on you will still have it depending on your activities during the day.

I purchased a pair of compression running pants off the clearance rack. I am wearing them tonight. I wear them when I know I am going to be busy and on my feet at work.

Went to walmart today and got some very cheap long cotton shorts and a few tshirts. Bought them big so that i will be comfy! Oh, got granny panties too!

Re: clothing after a LSH

Nothing with elastic, yoga panta are so comfy, tank tops are well fitting and shorter so does not interfere on your tummy

Also I found that the long maxi sun dresses worked real good, felt like you are wearing nite gown, but look pretty. Unless you need to wear a pad I went commando under dresses ,with nothing pressing on my tummy

Wore my jeans the first week for a few hours here n there

You really do not have to go out and purchase anything special, just whatever you are comfy in

Hope all goes well

Re: clothing after a LSH

I am finding that I am not ready for anything with an elastic waist. If I have to "dress up," a dress has been my best bet- loose and soft is the key. It was the perfect choice for waring home from the hospital.

I am still happiest in my soft nightshirt, though, and I don't have severe swelly belly and minimal incision concerns.
