treatment for high grade dysplasia

Has anyone ever been treated with fluorouracil cream for high grade dysplasia. This has been an on going thing, have had laser ablations, cone biopsy, hysterectomy etc, pap smears keep coming back abnormal, now he wants to try this cream, but I can fine nothing about it. Would appreciate any info. Thanks.

Re: treatment for high grade dysplasia

I don't have any personal experience with this, but if you go to our Cancer Concerns forum and do a search for fluorouracil, you'll find several threads on the topic. You're more than welcome to post there as well, sweetie. CC covers the spectrum of these issues from abnormal paps to cancer. Also, for issues of gyn pre-cancer/cancer, we recommend consulting a gyn/onc (gynecological oncologist), if at all possible.

Re: treatment for high grade dysplasia

I do go to and Gyn/onc. I have tried to google it, and I can't find anything about a vaginal insert for of this medicine. Thanks, I will try to get info from that forum.

I did a bit of searching to see what I could find for you. A web search did turn up a thread here at HysterSisters that might be helpful: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...d.php?t=194415

I also found some information about using medications off-label for VAIN which might be helpful: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Off-la...t.-a0117189193

And here is a page about fluorouracil on a cancer site, but it doesn't really address using it vaginally: http://www.chemocare.com/bio/fluorouracil_cream.asp

I also found this older study: http://www.mendeley.com/research/tre...5fluorouracil/

Hopefully those can get you started and then maybe the caring ladies in the Cancer Concern forum will have some more ideas and help.
