Bring Drivers license to hospital for surgery

I had my LAVH-daVinci with BSO on May 11. Everything is going well. I thought I'd pass on this tip:

I had pre-op with my Gyn/Onc, then pre-op at the hospital. Both told me to bring nothing with me, everything was ready.

So while I was in the recovery room/outpatient, we sent my husband off to the pharmacy to pick up my pain meds, with the prescription they just gave me, so I'd be ready to go. When he got to the pharmacy they requested my ID since it was a controlled substance, Oxycondon. Well of course he didn't have it and I didn't have that with me! So he had to go home, find it, then come back. Good thing I live close to the hospital.

Maybe this is just my state that requires this, or maybe you can get yours filled ahead of time.

It was a glitch I didn't need at that point in my life! But all is well. I ended up not taking the pain meds as they made me nauseous!
