wondering about recovery from LAVH & did you have to cleanse bowel before surgery

Hi I am scheduled for LAVH and was wondering about the recovery time to expect and also my doc has not said anything about taking anything to cleanse the bowel just not to eat after midnight. My daughter has a mandatory work weekend that I have to attend with her as her parent about 2 1/2 weeks after my surgery. Doc says that should be ok but I am worried from other post that I have read. My surgery could take up to 4 or 5 hours that seems to worry me also compared to others times on this site

I had to do a bowel cleansing and it wasn't to bad, but then it wasn't to good either. If you would like more information on my recovery you can pm me. Have a great day and would like to talk to ya....

I didn't have to do one. It was never mentioned and I actually had never heard about it until I found this site. I was told the same thing you were to not eat after midnight. My surgery was a much shorter time than your's sounds like it's going to be. I had a LAVH/BSO.
