100.5 fever

So I went for my annual physical and the nurse takes my temp and says "did you know you are running a fever? It is 100.5, do you feel ok?" I feel fine and my dr didn't see any reason as to why I am running this fever. I am 3 1/2 weeks po and feel fine. Even knowing I had a hyster she didn't say I should call my surgeon, but I think I will. What do you think.

I'm surprised with a fever like that you don't feel like crap but I would def call the dr you never know what may be going on

Re: 100.5 fever

It certainly wouldn't hurt to call, but I would probably monitor it myself and only call if it didn't go away (or got worse) after a couple of days.

Re: 100.5 fever

All of my hospital paper work said to call if it got to be 101 or higher. Do you still have your discharge papers on hand?

Re: 100.5 fever

I'd call.

My discharge papers said watch for a fever of 100.5 or higher.

A couple days post-op I had a fever. I let the doctor know. He followed up a couple times over the next 2 days to make sure it stayed normal, and also made sure today at my post-op exam that it was staying low.

Re: 100.5 fever

Still running a fever, it is now 101. Still don't feel bad which is weird, I even bought a new thermometer in case the on at my gp's office was defective and mine as well and it wasn't. Called my surgeon's office and the nurse feels that I am to far out for it to be related to my surgery. So I guess I am just running a fever for no reason.

Re: 100.5 fever

That is completely weird. I guess call the gp back and let them know its getting higher so they can run some tests. If hate to just let it go with all you've been through recently, you know?
