Hi There

I had my TAH with left ovary removed sept 24th, What I was sitting here wondering was, I have my right ovary and that will release an egg each month? and if so where will it go ...No womb/cervix.....

(to much time on my hands recovering...lol)

Kind regards

Silly question but have to ask.....

Your ovary will release one egg every other month and the body just treats it like a foreign object and "recycles" the nutrients elsewhere. It gets released into empty space. Literally.

Silly question but have to ask.....

If your remaining ovary takes over you could ovulate every month and like the PP said it will just be reabsorbed.

Silly question but have to ask.....

My Dr. told me that your body just naturally reabsorbs it. Hope this helps you.

Silly question but have to ask.....

I was wondering the same thing. I kept both ovaries and tubes and wondered where the eggs would "go"? I assume because I'll soon be 40 that I don't have many eggs left and I also thought my body would just absorb them. Good to hear that is correct.

No such thing as a silly question btw....I'm glad you asked. Thanks for being brave enough to do so !!!

Here's a good one....I didn't realize how much about my own body I did not know so I asked my gynie once....ok so after you remove my uterus...won't it leave a big hole and therefore what keeps everything in place? Won't my ovaries and stuff just float around in a big void afterwards?? She giggled but then explained that no, ovaries, tubes, organs are all connected to many many other tissues and ligaments and muscles and nothing is just going to float around in a big void of space. Everything will stay just where it's stupposed to stay. I felt like a moron for asking her but I was glad I did.

Keep asing questions....it's the only way we learn. The female body sure is an amazing thing !!!

Best of recovery to us all !!!
