Post-Hysterectomy 7 days severe nausea HELP

Hi everyone,

I'm a week post-op from a TVH w/ovaries kept. I'm sooooo nauseated still. I can't leave my house or move to much without feeling like I'm going to vomit. I absolutely can't take my pain meds with narcotics or my Tylenol w/codeine or it's even worse.... Has anyone experienced this?

I feel so emotional because I have three children who need me and all I can do is lay in bed. I've had surgeries in the past and never experienced nausea like this so I'm concerned any input would be greatly appreciated

Re: Post-Op 7 days severe nausea HELP

I suffered bad nausea. I had to take Zofran and Gravol around the clock. Are you taking anything for nausea? I sipped ginger tea as well. It took weeks to completely stop but only about a week or so to start calming down. Meds make me very sick too. Hope you feel better soon. It's brutal taking care do kids being sick but adding being post op as well.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. I do have zofran and it gives me horrible headaches, I think I'll call my dr tomorrow and see if I can get something else...

Ask for Phenergan, it works better and longer than zofran, until then peppermint or mint tea.

Definitely get something different if Zofran gives you headaches. That will just add to your discomfort. There's a variety of things available. Just need to figure out what works for you and keep some on hand.
