My Incision had busted open and leaking oozy stuff

Hang in there. I know how you feel. Mine opened up and I had the drainage for about 12 weeks. Beleive me I was so tried of having a bandage on that area I thought that it would last forever. My incision opened up a day after they took out the staples. It was open about 1 1/2" in the middle. I was lucky that I didn't have an infection and the DR. said that it was good that it was draining because you wouldn't want that kept inside you because then it could cause problems. It never hurt and it didn't smell bad. I had a cyst removed in my belly button and it did get infected. It smelled really awful and they had to pack it everyday for almost 8 weeks. My DS was still in diapers and I would have to smell him to see who the smell was coming from him or me and the sad part it was usually me.

Make sure when you do go to the Dr. to ask him how he wants you to take care and clean it. Each DR is different. The hole in my incision was deep that they had me pack it everyday with gauze and a saline gel to clean and kept it moist. Some Drs have you clean it with proxcide and water. So make sure you ask. As I said hang in there. I'm 6 months post-op and I'm not having any problems at all. I feel great. It just may take you a little longer to heal then some.

My Incision had busted open and leaking oozy stuff

My 2 C-sections and my tah was a bikini cut. The cyst was across the belly button they had to reconstruct it when they removed it. Both times that I had to have a wound packed it never hurt. If you run your finger around the area of your incision you might notice that you have very little feeling around it, I still don't. The itching is a sign that things are starting to heal and feeling is coming back. The hole healed but it took a long time. Not only was it wide but deep. The incision had to heal from the inside out. Also the bottom of my incision came up over the top and looked like it was pouting. I know I was. I would say it took about 12 weeks to close completely. As for how it looks, well not great but in time it will get better. It's pink now and already better then it was a month ago. Even if it is a nasty scar I glad I had the surgery done. I feel great, and I didn't have plans to wear a bikini anyways. LOL.
