TVH Intercourse after TVH

I'm only a week and a half post op but I've been reading all these posts about people that have painful intercouse after the hysterectomy for months/years. My worry has gone from surgery (which was fine), to recovery (which has been fine), and now to a whole new worry...sex!! I thought my troubles 'down there' were coming to an end to only worry about other issues :-(. Can anyone tell me it's going to be ok???

I have no idea where you've found many people who have problems with sex for months of years. The vast majority of us have no problems with sex after our hysterectomies if we did not have problems before surgery. In fact, for many of us sex improved once pain or excessive bleeding was no longer a factor.

Personally, my sex life hasn't changed much at all since surgery. Everything is pretty much as it was before except now we can have sex more often.

Awesome!! Thanks for your reply!! My hopes have improved. We never did have issues before hand...just the lack of it due to my crazy periods!! THANKS for giving me hope!! :-)

If you're just going by the posts here, you'll see that mostly ladies post when they have a problem or concern. I've seen far fewer posts about the good things that happen. I'm only 4 weeks out and the outercourse is just the same, if not better. I'm hoping the sex will be the same way when I get there! Hang in there!

I had sex last night for the first time ( per doc's permission). I had absolutely no issues. Every thing was even better than before! Try to relax and concentrate on healing, everything will be good.

I'm finding it is actually getting better! At first I think it was my own fear of the cuff healing that was getting in the way psychologically, but no issues now! I had a perpetual period for a couple of years and painful intercourse prior...that's all gone!!!

I'm 11 weeks. We started to have sex again at 5 weeks. The first time it didn't hurt. But after a few days of that it started to get sore and tender. But doc said its normal and I'm still healing. I'm 11 weeks now and same thing (bc I'm slow healer) sex is better than it was before but if we do it like everyday, by the 3rd day it hurts that's the only thing just bc I'm still healing. But other than that the sex is better!

I had no pain or soreness, just an adjustment period. Ladies do mainly post problems, so don't go just by that. Chances are, you'll have a good experience. Even if you do have an adjustment period or need more healing, things can work out to be good again.
