Anyone nervous??? Oh yeah me!!!

I'm having pre-op appointment in the a.m. then off to the hospital for registration. Boy am I getting nervous. I'm so ready to get this over and done with. Surgery is 9am Thursday so I'm hoping I handle nerves well until then. lol I made the joke that I hope my leg stays on during apt tomorrow (as when i'm nervous I shake my leg). Anyways wish me luck and I hope i'm not alone in the nervous feeling part. Just keeping the faith and telling myself i'm prepared, and I will not forget anything.

Nerves are definitely normal. Don't worry. Make sure you take a notebook with you to write questions/answers down so you won't forget anything. I had pages of lists in my book. Good luck!

my pre-op is tomorrow too! it's like, wow, this is really happening. i'm also nervous about pre-op.......why?? i don't have ur leg-shaking thing, but when i get nervous, i don't talk and i've got a lot of questions! i just keep trying to tell myself....one step at a time. good luck tomorrow. susan in austin

Good luck Jmfmmmem. I'm being operated on on Thurs morning too, needless to say it is all that has been on my mind since I woke up this morning, no doubt it's only gonna get worse tomorrow. Luckily I have my job to keep my occupied up until my surgery date, and help distract me away from my nerves.

Hopefully it all goes well and these comments the other lovely girls on here have been making about the wait being the worst part end up being true! I spent a good hour or two last night reading the recovery threads in the post-op section to get ideas on what to expect on the "other side" and they have helped greatly.

Couldn't be any more "ready" than I am right now, I just want to get this all over and done with.

I'm also June 13 and scared as can be. Having anxiety disorder doesn't help matters...
Last day of work is Tues 11th, then Wed to prepare things at home, then away I go on Thurs.

I felt the same way. I think I went through every emotion possible. I think for me it was the unknown. I read everything I could bout having the surgery done but still didn't comfort me. Oh yes I cried like a baby being wheeled into the O.R. Next thing I woke up in recovery room. Fast forward almost 3wks later im feeling better than I've been in a long time. You will do great. Nervoes is normal
I do a LOT of talking in both German and English.
I felt so sorry for my kids, my hubby and the poor Nurses that had to look after me until I got to the Theatre.
I bet they could not wait give me the GA lol

But hey, we all do things like you shake your legs, I talk with no stopping and others do other things.
Aslong as it helps you to stay calmer that is just fine.
