daVinci hysterectomy in 6 days (3/25) for Adenomyosis

Hi everyone I am new here. I am hoping to get some feedback and suggestions from anyone that has had Adenomyosis and robotic surgery for it. I am happy my hysterectomy was scheduled so fast but I am nervous too!

Hi, there! I wasn't diagnosed with adenomyosis, but I did have a radical hysterectomy performed via DaVinci back in January 2014. I had five small incisions, which healed quickly, and a relatively easy recovery. If I had to have it done again, I would choose the same method. I hope your surgery and recovery goes as well as mine did.

I had a complete hysterectomy my davinci almost 2 years ago (not for Adenomyosis - cysts, fibroid and endometriosis). No regrets, it all went well.

I had DVH on 6/20/14 for Andenomyosis, Fibroids and Enlarged Uterus. Overnight in hospital. Home next day. Have comfortable clothes to wear home. Get a body pillow, Gas-X and Peppermint Tea. The black tea not herbal. Also have some books downloaded on reading device. You will be fine. Having the hysterectomy was the best decision I could have. made. No more accidents, carrying extra clothes and wearing super + tampons and overnight pads with depends daily changing hourly. Dr. Bozdogan was the best. Had mine done at Hackensack University Medical Center. Good Luck.

PS I had Uterus, Cervix and Fallopian Tubes removed.

Thanks for responding. I do appreciate all the suggestions and definitely need to get a post hysterectomy care kit together this weekend lol. Gosh it is so reassuring all these posts from people that have been through what I will be going through next week. I am feeling very hopeful and can't wait for the healing process to begin so I can get on with my life. They are planning on taking everything but my left ovary. I'm almost 5 months post op and still very happy with the results of my surgery. I had adenomyosis, multiple fibroids, a uterine polyp and a uterus the size of a 12 week pregnancy. Uneventful recovery and am feeling terrific. Take care and best of luck on your surgery.

Good luck with your surgery, mine is April 8th. I'm doing the same procedure.
