Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

I was told by my surgeon on Monday that I would need physical therapy for my pelvic pain since it was muscle-related. I was not happy with it, but was okay with that.

Today I went to talk to the pt department of the campus health center and was told that they were reorganizing and would not have women's health pt anymore. I broke down and cried, literally. I never cry. If I do cry, it's only in front of people that I am really close to. I felt ridiculous and stupid and apologized and explained why I thought I was crying. She felt really bad and had names of people for me to go to even before I melted down.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

I have yet t o experience something like that, but can totally relate, don't feel bad, your whole system is haywire and that is a perfectly natural reaction under the circumstances

Re: Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

I had a melt down in the lingerie section of a department store. I wanted a pair of undies that were comfortable but didn't look like granny pants. When I washed them (as per instructions) before wearing them I noticed a defect in a seam. They cost $15 so I wanted to return them. The lady at the counter told me I couldn't as I had washed them. I just turned to a blubbery mess - very embarrassing, but she called the supervisor and I was able to return them!

Re: Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

I had a breakdown one night when I couldn't sleep. I am so stranger to insomnia but I've never cried over it before! I woke up my poor husband. He thought I was in so much pain. At my two week appointment, I made sure to ask for HRT!

Re: Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

I had my surgery back on June 4th. I have been an emotional wreck. The first 3-4 days I was emotionally fine 5th day post op up to now I still have breakdowns and just this past weekend I was in tears and my husband asked me what was wrong and I told him for once I don't know why I am crying. I haven't really slept that well past several days and been dealing with insomnia thanks to coming off pain meds or so the doctor told me that's why I am dealing with insomnia. Ugh, just ready to feel better emotionally.

Re: Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

Yeah it sucks. My emotions are still all over the place. Like today, I'm still pretty down and really unmotivated. If I could take a day off, I would.

I feel like I just need some time to myself or something. I just can't get a handle the emotion or what I need. It sucks.

Re: Anyone else have an emotional breakdown?

I had a total emotional breakdown at the weekend. It was triggered by the fact that we have some very selfish and unhelpful relatives staying with us. I was cooking dinner whilst they were all sat on their laptops/IPads etc. I asked 4 times for someone to set the table and was totally ignored. That was it - I started thinking 'what is wrong with this picture?' I'm the one recovering from major surgery and they are sitting there expecting me to wait on them. I was in pain from standing. I stormed off to my bedroom and could not stop crying for the rest of the night. I was a blubbering mess. Thankfully, they all go home on Saturday - I'm counting the hours until they leave ! I know what you mean about needing time for yourself. I can't wait!
