LAVH Is 7 weeks post-op hysterectomy safe to return to exercising?

I'm 3 days shy of being 8 weeks post-op. I've been a runner and avid exerciser for almost 20 years. At my 6 week post-op visit I was released to go back to all normal activities, everything that needed to be healed looked great but still had a few stitches inside. I took my daily walks about 3 days after leaving, starting with short walks and building up to 4-6 miles daily. When I returned to to running (6wks) I started with 1/2 a mile at a very slow pace then finished up workout on the AMT machine. I did this a couple of times then bumped up to a mile. At 7 weeks I felt I could do more, so I added another mile at a slow pace. Running felt great, but I decided to try some abs at 7 weeks...my doctor said I could do anything, if it hurts stop and lay off a week then try it again. Doing abs REALLY hurt, so I stopped immediately. Since then I've experienced pain on my right side, which today I feel pretty good. I've also been spotting, which I haven't really done since the first week post-op, and I'm having vaginal discomfort. I've been taking ibuprofen and back to daily walks. Please tell me I did a stupid thing and that everything is going to be okay!
