Endo and LSH

Perhaps someone knows the answer to this. I would like to get
an LSH but my dr suspects Endo. He will look for it during a lap
appointment to know for sure. So I am curious. If he finds Endo
does that mean that he can't do an LSH? I think they cut up the
U into small pieces and suction them out. Well, if you have Endo
would the dr say "no" because the little pieces may spread the
Endo around?
I guess you can tell that I don't really know what I'm talking
about. I've just never dealt with Endo before, I'm hoping he
doesn't see any.
Thanks for your help.

Endo and LSH

Hi Shera,

I found this link that might give you some information on a LSH and endo.

http://www.endocenters.net/supracerv...opic_hyste.htm

Go to the 1st paragraph and the 5th paragraph from the bottom. Also, there is a link to an endo information area on the same site.

Best wishes,

Mary

Endo and LSH

Hi Shera,

You should discuss your concerns with your doctor. Your doctor will decide the type of hysterectomy based on your own personal situation.

You can visit our Resources and do a search for endometriosis. Resouces can be found at the top of each page. Just click on the word Resources or click here.

Best wishes and keep us posted!

Endo and LSH

I have an extensive case of endo with adhesions, cysts and my uterus is fixed to my colon. But according to what my Dr told me when I have my surgery he's going to have to do an abdominal incision because of the endo.
He said he's afraid that he won't get all the endo with a lap, he wants to have a clear and open view of everything so that he can clean it up really well. Also the pelvic adhesions all have to be removed and my organs seperated. He said it's not uncommon to have pockets of blood and cysts with endo as well, which I have as well so he wants to be able to see everything with his own eyes to make sure that he gets it all.
I've had a previous laparotomy so they are just going to go through that way, and I feel better knowing that he is going to actually see what's happening with all of my pelvic organs since they are fixed to each other.
I think the Dr just goes with what he feels will be the best route of entry. What he feels comfortable doing.
Talk to your dr and see what his opinion is, what his thoughts are.
Best Wishes,
Tammy

Endo and LSH

That is the reason that I had a hysterectomy because of the endo--I had already had 2 laps done in previous years and since my cervix was good I was able to have an LSH and have been very impressed by the whole procedure--everyone is different however if you would like to ask me any questions please feel free to PM or email me.
