HELP - passed tissue last night possible endometriosis

I was diagnosed with fibroids 2 1/2 years ago and have treated fine with b/c until 2 weeks ago when I found out my fibroids were growing ( the largest was the size of a 14 week pregnancy) gyn told me to go off pill and prepare for sugery scheduled 2-15-05. Pass a mass of tissue 2 inches long last night went to ER and was told it is endometriosis now doctor wanting to put me back on a stronger birth control pill. Has anyone experienced this - I have no ideal what to do!!!!

Passing tissue does not mean you have endometriosis. Someone in the ER told you that? Usually ER staff aren't really up to spead on gynecology. Endo can only be diagnosed with laparoscopy. Passing tissue is a called a decidual cast and is rather common.

I don't really understand the need for bc pills. I say talk to your doc again and also get a second opinion. Not all fibroids grow because of estrogen. I can't say about the growing fibroids- only a doctor can answer whether the rate of growth is actually significant during the past 2.5 years

Thank you so much for you reply....I am going to start searching decidual cast right now. I do know that the ER did NOT do a laparoscopy. I am trying to find a gyn who will see me for a second opinion sooner than 4-6 weeks because I agree with you another opinion would be great. Again.....Thanks!
