Swollen belly concerns

Surgery scheduled for 10/13... I have had a c-section 8 years ago and I am comparing my recovery of this hyst to that.... however I was wondering how much my belly will swell? I know it sounds stupid but will my belly look any different after this surgery? My doctor plans to make the incision through the same scar from my previous c-section. I will have my pre op visit 1 week before surgery so I guess I can ask her all these questions but I am just nervous about it!
Just scared!

Swollen belly concerns

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op. I had all my children vaginally, but have friends that have had lots of c-sections. You can not reall compare what you will go thru with a csection because the work done for a hysterectomy is more extensive on the inside. The only thing is that the scar is the same on the outside. I had a vaginal cuff, a sling (thats what I'm calling it) but it actually tightens the ligaments that hold the bladder. So you actually can have lots of work done in there. I am still having belly swelling. I think it is mostly from sitting upright or overdoing it. Good luck to you on your surgery.

Swollen belly concerns

I am 12 days post op and my belly is HUGE! I also had a TAH and she did a really low bikini cut through an old appentics scar. I also have a whole bunch of swelling below the incision in the pubic area which I hope is ok. I see my DR on Friday for my 2 week appointment.

I am not expecting to be able to wear any of my regular clothes for a long time. I look like I am more than 6 months pregnant!

Swollen belly concerns

I bought maternity pants at Goodwill to wear when I go back to work part-time ... now I just wear XXL elastic pants and oversize shirts. But that's mostly for comfort, not because I'm XXL with swelly belly. I planned for the worst, which wasn't a bad idea!

I guess I need to go get some new pants/ undies for this surgery! I am lucky enough that I work from home so I won't be needed any "Public Clothes" once I return to work! Geez, how long will I be wearing these large pants ect? I mean will I ever fit back into my normal sized clothes????
