six days to go, swinging between panic and enthusiasm

Only six more days until I go see DA Vinci. I am swinging between panic and relief that its about to be over. I am sure this is the correct decision for me, but can't help worrying about such a major surgery. Thanks everyone.

Re: six days to go, swinging between panic and enthusiasm

It is so normal to be worried! Try to think of the positives -getting rid of the problems that led to the surgery.

Good luck to you all.

PS my advice is, keep or remove "parts" based on whatever your doctor thinks is best! It just adds to the anxiety to try to take that decision on. My doc took my cervix but left my ovaries. I had not had any abnormal PAPs but my post-surgery path reported pre-cancerous cells on my cervix...so I am so glad it's gone!

Re: six days to go, swinging between panic and enthusiasm

For what it's worth, I think the 'swing' is quite normal.

I am a level-headed, logical person and I basically asked my Dr for a hysterectomy to improve my quality of life. After he agreed and I left that appointment, I burst into tears in the car and felt like I couldn't breathe!!!!!

It is a major surgery. Best of luck, ladies!

Guess we will be in the same Post-Op group. I'm 7 days out and feel like I'm in the home stretch. Been preparing and researching this for too long. I'm looking forward to being on the other side so I can stop worrying.
