LAVH 12 days post hysterectomy: Pain pain go away ��

hi all

I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy with adhesion removal for adenomyosis and endometriosis on 14th November.
I was feeling great then last Thursday I started getting a burning pain across the left side of my abdomen which the consultant thinks might be nerve pain and what feels like the most awful uti I've ever had I'm on antibiotics and lots of painkillers but nothing (not even a trusty hot bath) seems to help feeling a bit miserable, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like this?

My consultant said it was ok as long as I didn't soak for more than 2-3 minutes but I was so uncomfortable I thought it might help - it didn't!

Yes. I had this and took pain killers and rested. It got better as the weeks passed and is pretty much gone now. Sometimes an ice pack felt good and sometimes a heating pad helped.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one I was just worried as the pain started 6 days post op but I'll just preserve with tablets and rest and hopefully it will improve x

I'm sorry to hear about your pain.

I also had my hysterectomy on Nov. 14th and in many ways have been feeling much better BUT I am still experiencing pain. By day 5, I spoke to my doctor and she sounded very surprised that I was still in pain. I think it can be normal but it is good that you consulted with your doctor and are on antibiotics. UTIs can be very painful.

Like you, I have the burning pain but not quite like a UTI. Sometimes the pain is bearable but when it gets too intense, I have to take medication.

Hang in there and call your doctor if you don't start feeling better soon!

I had this at 12 days post too. It lasted about a week & now it's gone. It will subside but yes it's so painful if it persisted I thought I would pass out. Sitting on the toilet was excruciating, mine was left lower abdomen only
