Upcoming hysterectomy 2/18: Menstrual Cycle and Surgery

I don't know if this has already been covered, but if it has please forgive me. I am wondering if there is a/any difference and anything (else) I need to know.

Re: Menustrual Cycle and Hyst

For some of us who kept one or both ovaries, we still experience some bloating, mood swings, etc...
If you lose your cervix, you will not get periods, if you keep it you might get mini periods.
You should talk to your doctor about this based on what you're having done.
Hope this helps!

Re: Menustrual Cycle and Hyst

Also, if you have your period during surgery, it's not a problem. I was just finishing up mine when I went in. Other women here have been in the middle of a full-throttle period. (If your periods make you anaemic, you may need an iron boost beforehand, but your doctor will handle that.)

It's surgery. Some extra blood won't be a problem for them. :-)

My question is are hysts while on period any different than the ones that arent on the period or Aunt Flo, I have started mine today and I am having a/the hyst done tomorrow. Sooo, insert my (other) question(s) here. Is there anything else/extra I need to know/do and/or etc.?

I think BornACrone answered your question then!
Going to surgery while in your periods is not an issue.
Good luck tomorrow!
