3 weeks post robotic hysterectomy: Incision site pain

Hello

I had a Robotic Hysterectomy on March 20, 2015. My uterus, fallopian tubes and cervix were removed due to uterine fibroids and adenomyosis.

I had pain for the first week and a half, using Motrin and Percocet, to manage. Since then, have only used some Motrin or Tylenol for discomfort.

What I am having trouble with is the incision sites. By mid afternoon the incisions are so uncomfortable and hurt even to have loose clothing move against them. I have had my 2 week appointment and everything is healing well. The incisions are not red or inflammed and no stitches coming through. Originally they were covered with surgical glue but that has come off. My surgeon said it was probably "nerve endings" and told me to cover them with bandages until sensation subsides. It's better but I'm still experiencing painful sensations especially my belly button.

My question is; has anyone else experience this type of sensation and pain. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you
Mrs Stutts

Re: 3 weeks post robotic hysterectomy: Incision site pain

It could be just healing pains and it could also be internal stitches dissolving, they can cause sharp pains when they dissolve. They start to dissolve around weeks 3-6.
And you can have some discharge during this time.
If it persist, becomes worse, develop a fever and/or foul odor then get to the doctor.
take great care
