postmenopause hysterectomy...now going thru night sweats and hot flashes again..

I had the TAH/BSO on Sept 2, I have been sweating or freezing, rarely ever comfortable since surgery. First I thought it was the fever...So did doctor...But here I am, home. no fever, ac going plus a fan aimed right at me. Sweating...Surgery. menopause or something else whacked out now?

I am in peri-menopause and have those same symptoms often. NOT FUN!

Ovaries make some hormones your whole life, so whatever hormones they were making for your are gone now with the TAH/BSO. My mother went through a second menopause on Tamoxifen at 64.

Sometimes I just think it is so great being a woman - NOT.

I was postmenopausal 7 years out when I had my surgery. I had "mini" hot flashes for several weeks after my surgery. They are gone now. Also had mood swings which are much better now. I can't do HRT so my body must be readjusting on its own. Hope the same happens for you.

I am with you on this one. The ovaries went and the the menopause came. Soy and Black Cohish helped the hot flashes and night sweats some, but the depression and lack of sleep are driving me crazy.

it sounds like menopause..do you have any plans to start hrt? hope the symptoms ease up for you soon!
