It's scheduled for oct. 13. I am terrified the fear of the unknown. Im terrified of rectocele, cystocele, vaginal vault prolapse etc. I will be going home the next day.. Please if anyone has had this done please advise. Tell me some good news. Thank u. All i do is cry.

Re: Davinci scheduled oct. 13 terrified.

my dearest Greenpoint,

Please do not be scared, I was so nervous about my surgery, but I knew it had to be done- I let my doc- who I trusted-do his job and did my research and it really helped! I know this is scary but life after this is sooo awesome. Sending you love and hugs!

Re: Davinci scheduled oct. 13 terrified.

Dear greepoint, I also had davinci becase they found cancer in my uterine lining. They had to do a total hysto. The first day you feel the weekest but with the pain meds I was fine. The next day was better and all I was taking was advils for pain which really wasn't that bad. I bought gas x stool softner which will also help for your recovery but mostly what helps is sleep. I had a phobia of hospitals and was crying everyday but now that I did I see it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You will be fine and be a better you. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask that is what we are here for... Hugs and kisses....

Thank you so much for your reply. I've been reading the experiences of women who have had DaVinci and all said they have been happy. The recoveries were all different. What I am most afraid of is reading about the vaginal wall prolapse, rectocele, cystocele etc. I'm thinking, this may happen more frequently with open hyst. instead of min. invasive.? Don't really know. I have a list of questions to ask my doctor. Also, one lady said she couldn't pee afterward, and another said she had painful BM's. My doctor told me she is taking the catheter out before i wake up. Thank goodness for that. She said also, this recovery will be easier than the UFE. Well over all I'm healthy, I excersise all the time, eat right, so I am hoping all goes well. I already put stool softeners and Gas-X on my list. This group is amazing. Thank you all so much you keep a smile on my face.

Will I need the Belly Binder? I'm thinking of getting one anyway. All advice is very welcome.

Re: Davinci scheduled oct. 13 terrified.

Dear greenpoint

I had my DaVinci on Sept 6th. Same reason as you, terrible fibroids and nothing else helped, also kept ovaries. I was also extremely nervous but I trusted my DR so I toughed it out waiting. I had a wonderful experience, surgery went perfect, nurses were fabulous. I went home the next morning and haven't had any problems.

Be careful though, I have felt pretty good so I have to be careful not to overdo it and damage anything internal while its healing.

Sending hugs your way, it will all be fine! And its over in no time, waiting is the hard part

Re: Davinci scheduled oct. 13 terrified.

Dear Greenpoint,

I had my DaVinci hysterectomy on August 30th. Like you I was terrified of the unknown. I had to put my trust in the hands of my Dr. (who is absolutely wonderful) and the hospital staff. I had a very large fibroid tumor, but kept my ovaries. Everything went well, like others I've talked to, I had pain for the first few days, but nothing I couldn't handle with Ibuprofen.

The scariest thing for me was the last 2 days. I started having abdominal pain and got scared that I had hurt myself. Today I realized exactly what it was, I was ovulating. Hurt a little more than normal, but everything is still healing.

I hope your surgery goes as well as mine. Sending you hugs and prayers.
