5 week checkup - Healed

I have some wonderful news! I went to the doctor yesterday and I'm healed. All the stiches have been disolved and I've been cleared to start my normal routine. However, I am waiting until April 14 to go back to work. Then I will work part-time for the first week. I can't really afford getting 70% of my pay now and then working part time for that one week, but I have taken my healing process seriously and have followed the guidelines and suggestions. I've realized that I have this one opportunity to heal correctly and I'm doing my best to "pamper the princess". I'm going to start by trying to get into a routine. I need to break my habit of taking a daily nap! This website has been wonderful!

Re: 5 week checkup - Healed

Hi Jody,

Great news I'm so glad you wrote, as I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and and hoping to hear the same thing. Your great news has sparked some encouragement for me. What kind of surgery did you have? I had a partial abdominal hyst (uterus and one ovary). Our surgery dates are the same. I am feeling pretty good, went to the gymn today. Didn't do much, but it felt good just to go. I am busy trying to figure out what I should get as a thank you for the wonderful nurse(at my doctor's office) She has been so good to me. Already gave my doctor a very expensive bottle of wine at my 2 week apt., he was also my surgeon, also has been very good to me and he did a wonderful job on my surgery--I did not have much pain and my incision looks great. No staples or stitches, just that tape.I can't tell you how happy I was to see that when I came out. Any suggestions for my nurse? I know wine or any type of alchohol is out. I want to spend around $20-25.

hrtlss,
Glad to hear you are doing good too! Did you have the Di Vinci? How was that? My doctor wanted me to have that until he did my discovery surgery and realized my uterus was the size of Jupiter! My words, not his. I'm a little jealous, I hear that the Da Vinci involves alot less recovery and smaller incisoins. Hope that is true for you.
