Overdid today.

Why do I expect him to do stuff. Why, why, why????? I give up. I think I shall write a list of what needs to be done. Maybe if it is in black and white he will get it! Then again, probably not.

Overdid today.

I did the same as AnxiousAnnie....gathered up all of my favorite things and got my bedroom ready ahead of time. I've been hiding in there. I come out to get food and whatnot and I try to avoid looking at any of the piles of stuff in the house. The DH did get the kids to help him clean the house on Saturday, but we all know that DH's idea of clean is totally different than mine! I love the story of the dribble on the toilet! That is hilarious! I wonder how they cannot see that?!

Ladies, it is called "male tunnel vision" and only that species has it! Good luck with the list. Hope it works for you. My DH is a list maker and left me one a few days ago. Mind you I'm just 3 weeks post-op yesterday... There were a couple of things on the list that I could actually accomplish and I did and told him basically what he could do with the rest of the list...I'm all done overdoing it. So not worth it. I'm home alone all day (2 grown DDs) except for 2 needy dogs and can pretty much just relax so in that sense, I'm very lucky. Glad you ladies have decided to camp out in the bedroom! Take care.

Lynn

Overdid today.

Boy reading this thread has helped me a great deal!!
I am not here at this board as often as I like, because all we have for a computer chair is a HARD folding chair!!
Anyway.....it is good to hear that other families ideas of clean are not like ours and that even the littlest thing wipes others out too.....
I had been hearing all of these wonderful stories about how great everyone felt after (from family and co-workers)....I have been sore and tired!!
Hugs out to all, especially you sisters dealing with flood damage!
My father died this past July (mom in 2000 from cancer) and I have had to deal with cleaning out his home, getting ready for the estate sale, getting the house ready to put on the market....and of course all of the mom taxi stuff)
How can driving kids to volleyball, football and hockey get so tiring??
Thanks for letting me rant!!

I know that feeling all to well. Its like pulling teeth to get my DH to do what I need him to do. I even wrote it on paper he still don't get it.

Overdid today.

I'm three weeks out and am still making requests for help from my husband and he has been so good about it. I did travel 3 1/2 hours with him yesterday on a business trip (no I didn't drive!). Staying in a 3 story townhouse. Holed up on the second floor. Taking the steps very carefully. Was wiped out yesterday afternoon - slept 3 hours. I think because we look ok that family looses interest. I''m finiding I just have to pipe up! Discovering limits everyday....backing up and resting. To heck with the dirty house! Last night we were out to dinner with friends and the husband said his first wife went through this surgery - to take extra good care fo myself and not be discouraged about the long recovery. My husband definately took notice! Sue
