Dr's office dragging feet re operation date..

..and my nerves are shot! Seen my gyn end of May; he recommended a TAH due to severe endo (had that for years) but now large fibroids and cyst..but I have called his office 4 times now to ask when I'd be scheduled..and every time the (one and only) staff member doing that job told me a different story..either she's working on it, or she's been away for 10 days and hasn't yet, it looks like the 21st of July, or she'll get to it tomorrow and call me back..which both times she did not do. It's tough enough waiting, but this is just silly! I told her today (after she told me yesterday to call back this morning; she'd have a date then) that if I did not hear from her today, I'm just going to cancell and find a different doctor..and guess what - no phone call today either! I'm so frustrated..has anyone had a similar experience; should I just throw in the towel and start all over with someone else..the dr is excellent, he removed a growth from my uterus three years before..?? Thanks for letting me ramble

Dr's office dragging feet re operation date..

HI Sasparkle, I had the same problem with the ladies at my doctor office. I seen my doctor on June 2nd and he advised that I would have a LAVH. I told him that I wanted to wait until after the holiday, so that I could enjoy my time with my family and get everything done and train a temporary person at my job. Well he told me that it would be done the week on July 10 and that one of the staff memeber will call me to give me a date. Well, I didn't hear anything and I kept calling everyday. I got sooo upset, that I snap out on one of the women and she said that she would have someone call me the next day with a date. This went on for two hold weeks. So I finally called a left a voicemail for the doctor on the nurse's line and sure enough someone called me the next day with a date. I explained that I needed the date so that I could get my FMLA papers filled out, make arrangements for my children, have my husband request time off his job, etc. I don't think they understand that there's alot of preparation that is needed before surgery. After all of that waiting, my surgery was pushed back a whole week later. My surgery is scheduled for 7/19 @ 7:30am. I'm nervous, but ready at the same time. Good luck with everything and I hope you get your date soon. I think the worst part is waiting.
