Sagging anus, is this a rectocele?

I had my hysto when I was 31 due to a very large and growing fibroid tumor. It was so large it was growing out of my cervix. I have had estrogen replacement but still had numerous issues with prolapses. I had a vaginal vault repair in 05 and along with that they put in some mesh. I know find I have some unusual problems. I find my anus actually sort of feeling like it is hanging out of me at times. I can't always get myself cleaned adequately after a bowel movement. I have had a period of time here where my estrogen has gotten very low, 26, so the doc has put me on a patch, 1mg. I hope that helps. I also have some neurological issues, just found out I have Mysathenia Gravis and I have some disc issues with my back. I do know once the GYN told me that the constant urine leakage may be related to the back issues more than my actual body structures. It is hard for me to get out of the house and I always feel so traumatized by exams of these sort.
I looked at the descriptions of prolapse problems and don't see a sagging anus listed. anyone know what this might be called?

Re: Sagging anus, is this a rectocele?

Could be a rectal prolapse.. which is different then a rectocele.

The reason I finally sought help, was because I thought I was having a rectal prolapse. When I had a BM, part of my rectum was protruding from my anus (TMI!! - it freaked me out. It was hard to get clean.. and I had to wipe a lot.

I went to a specialist - a uro-gyn who only does pelvic floor reconstruction. My rectocele was VERY low and coming out (so sort of like a rectal prolapse in a way). I had a sacral colpopexy and a rectopexy... which has brought all the falling parts back up where they belong. It is MUCH, MUCH better today - 8 1/2 weeks post op. It doesn't bulge out any more.

I'd first seek a uro-gyn because they handle the prolapses and he would know if you needed a colon-rectal surgeon for anything else.

During my search, I found little info on this budging anus, (which scared me more!!) so hopefully, I've helped.

Best wishes.
