My doctor says "Midol", but...

What KIND?

I had my pre-op appt yesterday, and asked then about over the counter pain meds after I don't need the prescription stuff anymore. Usually I take Tylenol for aches and pains, but the GYN/surgeon said that Midol is better suited for this sort of pain and duration.

However, when I stopped at Target this afternoon, I discovered that they had a couple of kinds -- one seemed to be just for cramps, backache, & headache. The other one was called "Midol Menstrual Relief" (or something like that). The package said it was for cramps, backache, headache, bloating, irritability, etc etc.

The one for menstrual relief said a suggested dose had as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.

Now, it would be nice to have that much energy, but aren't we supposed to be resting?

ALSO (sorry this is so long, but I want to get this right! LOL), the pills in each package seem to be 220mg each. It seems to me that I've read posts where the {{{{sister}}}} said she was taking 800mg at a time! Is that right?

My surgery is on Friday morning, so I've still got a couple of days to go back and find the right kind.

Thanks, ladies!!!
HUGS,
BozLady

My doctor says "Midol", but...

I avoid caffeine even on my good days.....I just don't like the way it makes me feel.

I used the narcotics for about 3 days after I got home, then I was able to switch to motrin and tylenol. It really was all I needed. The best way to control pain after surgery is to not over do it. Concentrate on and

s and Best Wishes,
Kay
