TAH 6 days post hysterectomy: Painful cramp in bladder

I have started getting deep painful cramps in my bladder when I pee. Has anyone experienced this or do I need to call the hospital. I am worried that I may not be emptying my bladder properly and my pee smells funny.🤕🤒

I know that your bladder may get spasms after surgery. I am not sure what you mean by cramp..if it hurts to pee and you are pushing to hard to pee, then you may have a uti. I did not get a uti from my surgery. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones...

I have called the hospital and they want me to come in for a review. Hopefully it will get sorted out. Will keep you all posted.

I'm not a doctor but it sounds like you have a UTI. I have had them and I was starting to feel it come on again. What I did was get some AZO and drink cranberry juice for an entire day. I felt better after that.

Thanks, will try that. When I rang the hospital, the person I spoke to said same, says it's common especially if you had a catheter.

Yes I had a catheter. I knew what was going on because I was having fevers and chills. I did that and took some Advil for the fever and was fine.
