Nervous

Hi all! I found this site by what i would call a tiny miracle. I had a leep on the 15th on December, was told on December 21st that I was in need of a TVH. They wanted to do it the 23rd but I refused. I had my pre-op on the 31st and will have surgery this Monday on the 5th. Such a short time to take all that in, to cope and to prepare (understand too!) I've read many hints and tips from others that have brought my anxiety down a bit and that I am so grateful for. When I stumbled upon this site I was ignorant to just about everything that had to do with this procedure. My Ob explained the procedure very well and answered all the questions I bombarded her with. But this site has really helped with the questions that weren't asked or that i never even thught to ask. I'm overweight, a recovering addict (1 year 18 days clean... go me!) and a smoker. Those things concern me alot. I've found many useful threads and just want to say thank you for HysterSisters. It's been a tremendous help. I'll go on forever if ya let me, so .... Congratulations on your 1 year and 18 days addiction free, if you can do that hysterectomy will be a doddle for you :-)

I had 8 weeks to get my head around it and research which I think was too long really so I think your timing will be fine.

We are here to help you through the process and can usually answer anything you throw at us so as away! Nothing is too silly or out of bounds for us & someone will usually have been there, done that & got the T Shirt, if not we just hand out hugs and encouragement :-)

Welcome! I had a couple months to gather information and prepare for my surgery, and I was amazed at all the useful information I found on this website. Even more incredible to me has been how the website has been even more useful post-op than it was pre-op. There is support here to help you through every aspect of the hysterectomy.

My surgery was also a TVH. Good luck!
