adhesions

I am on week 6. Had radical hysterectomy due to tubo-ovarian abscess and extensive lysis of adhesions on 8-3. Was in hospital on IV antibiotics for 4 days after surgery and more antibiotics after that. The op report said the ureter was transected (apparently stuck to abscess??). Doctor gives so little info.

I am a worry wart and the worry is adhesions. I feel a little pull on my stomach (near lap entry site) that is new and intermittent cramping gas issues in the area that my abscess was.

Wondering--should I go see a gastroenterologist? How long before I know the final result of possible adhesions. Does it get worse over time. Can I prevent them. Anything I can do or know to ease my worried little mind!!

adhesions

Hi there,
I really don't know who you should go see, but I would start with another call to the doc to get more info. Maybe you could go to the hospital and request a copy of your chart and go to see your general practitioner, and s/he could send you in the right direction.
Good luck

adhesions

Had adhesions too at the time of my TAH. My bowel was sticking to my uterus making TVH impossible. It would explain some of the terrible cramping that I used to have. I would go back to the original ob/gn to arrange a scan as you are obviously not right yet. Best wishes.
