where can you buy emla cream? and what is it exactly. I'm willing to try anything. the only thing worse than them missing, is when they get the needle in and the vein rolls and they move the needle around inside your arm kind of chasing the vein. OUCH

Been there done that. Emla Cream is prescribed by your doctor. Some have never heard of it so you may want to get info off the internet & take to them.
The only bad part as I may have said is if you have put the cream on one particular spot & they can't use the vein for some reason. Then you either have to get stuck somewhere with no cream or make them wait an hour while you put more on.
My husband is very thankful to whoever invented EMLA cream because it saves a lot of tears.
Without the cream I usually end up getting so Upset I go into seizures. That reminds me I better call the dr. to refill my scrip for emla cream before pre-op time.
