LAVH Confused

Hello there,

I had my Hysterectomy on March 17th, 2011. I have been staying off my feet for the most part. I have had almost no real pain, but the bloating and swollen tummy. I started taking Gas X per my doctor, and the Bloated/Swollen tummy is just about gone. I have a sore next to one of my incisions, and that incision doesn't seem to be healing correctly. What should I do? Also when will I be able to have a normal BM again? That is very irritating.

Today is 2 weeks post op for me and I just started having normal BMs. I do recommend do NOT take Dulcolax. It almost killed me. I am still suffering from a swelly belly and it's really getting old to me. I would get the incision checked....just in case it turns into something like staph. Good luck!!

Well I have been taking the stool softener. Is that what is causing the swelling belly? I will totally stop the stool softeners if that is going to make the swelling belly go away. I called the doctor and explained the incisions and the doctor thinks that due to it being next to my Skin rash under the same bandage (didn't know I had the rash till today) that it wasn't able to stay dry to heal right. I was told to let it breath, and as long as I do not get a fever, or red streaking it should be ok as it slowly heals.
