My New Crown

I am back and feeling pretty good. I had my TAH/BSO on 1-23-01 and was out of the hospital by Thursday, I could have stayed another day, but wanted to get home to get some sleep. Everything went well, they found the bladder adhered to the uterus and adhesions with the colon too. Along with the multiple fibroids and cysts. The biggest problem was the PCA pump, the GYN thought the Anesthesioligist ( sp?) was going to put it in and he thought she was, so no one did. When I woke up in pain they gave me 2 shots in the rump. one for nausea and one of morphine. After the second set of shots I really made some noise and made them call my Dr to get orders to put it in my IV not my butt. My DH was wonderful, and left for about an hour to get something to eat about 3 pm thinking that my pain was under control, we had been there since 5:30am. While he was gone I tried to call the nurse and my call bell was not plugged into the wall and I was crying since no one was coming and I was all alone. DH came back and raised holy heck and things after that went fine, the nurses were great and there were student nurses so that was extra hands and we were able to get a liitle more attention. I wanted to get home to my own new bed because I was not sleeping at all.
Still have not had that dreaded first BM, but passing gas without a problem.
Spoke to hystersister MarciaZ by phone on Wed. as she was across town doing the same thing.
Looking forward to hearing from my sisters in the 23rd club.
Thanks to everyone for the information and support, I would not have been as prepared as I was if not for all of you,
Thanks,
Ann

My New Crown

Hi Ann,
We have the same name and sounds like a lot the same experience in the hospital! I had surgery on the 15th. Just wanted to say welcome home and quick healing!
