One Ovary

I love this site. Just happened upon it today and have already learned so much. Is there an abbreviation for TVH plus losing one ovary? I didn't see it in the abbreviation list provided.

If you only have one ovary removed, it is referred to as RSO or LSO depending on whether it was the right ovary or left ovary that was removed.

Hello, I had my LAVH RSO on June 26th as well...woohoo we are a week into our healing. Things are going so so I guess.I feel like some days I do great and other days I feel like I am taking 2 steps backwards, today for instance is one of those days. Glad you found this site, the women on here are great and have a lot of wonderful advice, not to mention they will keep you in stiches laughing.

A kindred sole. Great to hear from you and glad you are doing okay. It was a surprize when dr said she took right side. Left side was killing me pre or and is till hurting pretty bad 1 wk post op. Right side had questionable cyst. Will learn results a 4 wk followup. Dr said left side looked good.

I hope everything goes ok with your post op check up. My situation was that my right ovary was my "problem child" lol, I opted for him to just take that one instead of giving me a violent shove into menopause, but he said the trade off could be that I start forming cysts and what not on my left, lets hope I dont. How are you doing in your healing? Everything going well? Me, well I think it is going very slowly. I have been sick with bronchitis, so I feel like I might be doing a lot more damage everytime I cough, combined with the fact that I feel like I over did it yesterday. Oops. But one day at a time right? I hope you are well.
