I'm having a hysterectomy in 9 days and I'm worried

Hi my name is amber and I'm 30 years old I'm having a da vinci hysterectomy in 9 days and I'm worried about what to expect and how long it's going to take to heal? Has anyone had this surgery?

Welcome to the sisterhood I am glad you found this site and hope you love it as much as I do.
I have learned so much just by looking at different parts of this website. There are threads commited to the davinci procedure. There is a pre op checklist I found to be very helpful as well.

I had the daVinci surgery on Feb 28. I like you was worried about what to expect as this was my first major surgery. I am now 7 days post op and can get around the house without pain. The worst day I have had so far was the day after the surgery in the hospital. Once they remove the catheter they expect you to get up and pee before they let you go. Boy was that a challenge at first.

You will feel better very quickly. Stay on your pain meds as directed and follow the Dr.'s orders. You will feel so good you may be tempted to do things you should not like unload dishwasher, unload dryer, etc. DON'T !!! You have only on shot to heal right. So take it very easy and get lots of help. I plan on going back to work 3/12. I am hoping it won't be too painful (its a desk job).

If you have questions or concerns speak to your Dr. They have heard it all. I highly recommend the daVinci Robotic Surgery.
