I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

I'm 19 almost 20, on the lupo shot (3 more months!!) due to endo, had lap in July. I ve had 3 lupo shots already, but just recently (past month) I haven't been able to get that loving feeling. At this point, I don't even want to be touched at all. I love my hd dearly and he's very understanding and supportive but it bothers me, not to mention that it is frustrating. My dr says that it's normal, and that they'll put me on a labido enhancer a month after my 6th shot. That's all fine and great, but 1. my insurance won't cover it, It's amazing they cover viagra, but not birth control? And 2. I'm frustrated now. I want to be intimate, but just can't. Thanks for letting me vent , please let me know if you have any suggestions

I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

I have seen here on this board some of the Ladies say that Lupron kills the labido, once you have finished the treatment you should find it all comes back to normal

Thats when things should pick up, at the moment just snuggle up to your man and cuddle lots. It helps emotionally as well as being reasuring to you both that love is still a part of your relationship.

Some years back I was put on a drug that killed it all for me, so I know what your going through. It will come back, don't worry

p.s. Please empty your PM box as the message I sent yesterday failed because the box is full

I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

HI Shannon

I don't have much advice to offer. Just some 's for you.

I know it is a frustrating thing to deal with. I lost that loving feeling after I went in to menopause. (Testosterone brought it back for me) Which seeing that you are on lupron you are in menopause also, but yours is tempoarary.

I am sure once you are off lupron therapy and you resume your normal cycle, things should return to normal.

In the meantime, lots of cuddling and affection. The two of you might have to work alittle harder at "getting in the mood"

Best of luck

I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

Dear Barber,

From what I have heard of Lupron, it sends you into a drug-induced menopause, hence the low to no libido. Once you are off the drug, the libido should come back. I have been suffering from no libido for a while and tried Levitra (similar to Viagra) and that helped. Don't expect to pounce on your man after taking it. As was explained to me, it is more to increase the blood flow to those very important loving areas to allow for that "lovin feeling' to return. That said, I have to mention that I have started taking progesterone in pill form (also available in a cream) as prescribed by my physician and have gotten some really positive effects from it! Not only have I got that lovin feeling back but I have also retired the KY jelly tube! For me, the progesterone has had a much more natural effect.

Hope this helps kiddo!

I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

Hi Barber,

I was on (3) months of lupron to shrink my fibroids for my hyst. So, I come from experience on the side effects.

I also experienced the lack of a sex drive while on lupron. As Desertdweller said, it does cause chemical menopause and a lack of libido is a side effect.

After I finished my shots, my libido did come back. So take heart!!

Best wishes,

Mary

I think that I lost that Loving Feeling

What if I really didn't have a libido before? It seems like when I met my hd, I was having the time of my life and had a libido, and doing lots of bad things (let's just say I had a very bad rebelion stage), Then we started dating, I straightened up, so did he, and poof It's all gone. I love my hd, and am attracted to him, but I wish that I could get my libido back. It's frustrating because there are pills out there, but insurance won't cover them (but they'll cover viagra???) and I can't afford them. On a better note, Cuddling has made me feel closer to my hd, and that's now his new favorite activity. so maybe we're getting somewhere.
