6 wk ckup- Finally- Now doing medicinal sex!

Hey Sisters,
I just had my 6wk ckup and got the " all systems go" from Dr. She got a chuckle when I told her we don't want to do anything because we're two scaredy cats now. She said take your time amd go slow and what to watch for ( like too much bleeding) etc. Well we came home, I wanted to wait, he wanted to just get it over with I think. It didn't go well. It was different for both of us. I was upset, cried a little.
That's when we agreed to have what I termed "Medical Sex". It isus trying to find our way in uncharted territory, without any pressure. He preferred us to call it "MEDICINAL SEX" and that's what we now call it. This term has given us something to laugh about in a not so funny situation. We never expected to not just start where we left off. We realized we had BOTH gone through so much with this surgery.He likes to say "WE" had a hysterectomy, and you know what- he's right.
Ok so 2nd time, not great either, but that's ok - 'cause this is just medicinal sex right now.NO PRESSURE.
3rd time (yeah that's right, we're determined!) much better! I don't think we'll need medicinal sex for long, unless we have some unforseen complication, then we just go back to medicinal sex for a while.
I hope anyone who has a little bump in this long road can also try to find the humor and work with what you got. One step at a time. Best to you all!!!

I just love the way you have looked at this and that it is getting better for you. I also think it is so sweet that your partner says "we" had a hysterectomy. That's one I haven't seen. The man wins a prize in my book.

Hey, news - I came to the board today looking for something. . . and your post did it! thank you so much! I have to go tell DH - I got the o.k. and just am too scared, and he wants to try, for "us" and I take him at his word, he has been so patient - but, I, too have never looked at it as "we" had a hysterectomy! That is soo true.

News - you have brightened my day (!!!!!). . . that and my new slippers - that is on a different thread about DH finding a way for us to laugh together.
