gallbladder disease??

karebare--My doctor told me once that some of the pain associated w/gb can be (in the absence of stones) spasming of the common bile duct (which connects the gb to the liver). She prescribed donnatel (combination phenobarbital/something else...that's the "donna" part of the name). It's an antispasmodic and worked well.
Until, of course, I finally had stones and enough of them to make even me cry "uncle" and have it out! LOL
Don't know if that's what's happening here--might want to breeze it by your doctor.

gallbladder disease??

I had my gallbladder out in Nov, It took them 6 months to determine it was autally my gallbladder cause I had no stones they just dismissed it... They finally did a Hida Scan and it showed my gallbldder was not functioning properly.. Ask for this test of you are sure it is your gallbladder.. I was in pain for so long and it messed with my digestive system.. So yes you can have gallbladder problems with no stones....

gallbladder disease??

I dealt with gallbladder pain for 14 years - and all the tests showed nothing.
Finally had it removed after it showed up on a test. By then it was pretty bad!

gallbladder disease??

I had gallbaldder disease..."textbook symptoms" the Dr and surgeon said. NO stones showed up...but they did see what they felt were polyps that they felt wouls sway around from teh walls and cause the same trouble. I had had problems for years and I had changed my diet. But therewas the occasional attack thenthey got worse and the surgery is now less invasive and they did it at the same time they did my endometrial ablation. I havent had an attack with greasy food like pizza since.

Like one of the other sisters said you should get the Hida Scan to see if your gallbladder is functioning properly or not. I had my gallbladder out in 2004. No stones, but I had the Hida Scan done and it showed it wasn't working right. Good luck, and best wishes to you.

gallbladder disease??

I had problems with my gallbladder and all tests showed normal. The HIDA scan was low normal. I was continuing to have problems and the surgeon thought it should go as all the signs and symptoms indicated it was gallbladder. Path showed it to be very inflammed. So yes, you can have problems with your gallbladder without stones. I have not had any problems with those symptoms since it came out over a year ago.
