Re: Young and Scared

louloudolphin,

Glad you found us!! At 24 you ARE young and right to be asking questions. Sorry you are dealing with all this. Please don't hesitate to get a second opinion. Hysterectomy is not the only fix for heavy bleeding or stage 2 prolapse. Hyster may turn out to be your best choice but make sure you have been offered all the choices. Hyster is major surgery and can be life changing...a third opinion at your age isn't a bad idea!

Keep asking questions, you have options. Every women is different, so is every doctor.

All the best, keep us posted.

Re: Young and Scared

Hi there,

Just wanted to wish you good luck. I'm 25 and having my hyst on the 14th of December. I don't have any children, just a farm full of animals, but I completely understand your fears. Everything sounds pretty encoraging, and I've read about a lot of people our age who have gone through this, at least on here, which is so comforting. You are not alone. I know you will need help with the kids, but otherwise should be fine. I hope this really helps you

Re: Young and Scared

I have scheduled my hyserectomy for Nov. 26th. I had a test done today called a uro-dynamic test. And found out that the sphincter (that is used to stop your flow of urine) mine is not working. The machine said 0 pressure? Anyone else have this issue and understand what it means? It was the NP who did the test so I havent gotten the results from the doctor yet. Thanks again for the words of wisdom ladies.
