I was doing so well after hysterectomy surgery...now I'm set back!

Ever since I have been home I have knelt down to put a dvd in no problem. This time I squatted not thinking about it and fell in the squat position I am 9 days post-op and heard a horrible tearing sound. Luckily no blood!

Now I am going to have to be in bed because the vaginal cuff pain is horrible! Back to taking pain-killers and see the surgeon tomorrow to make sure everything looks okay.

It's still okay right if there is no blood?

Re: I was doing so well...now I'm set back!

I'm sorry this happened to you. I would think no blood is a good sign, but only your doctor can tell you if it's okay. Sometimes no matter how good we are at following doctor's orders or how positive our mindset, things like this happen. Put your feet up and let others do even the smallest things. Put your tiara back on.....you need to start pampering the Princess.

If you heard a tear, I would call the doctor's office to see if rest alone will fix it, or if you need it c checked.

Re: I was doing so well after hysterectomy surgery...now I'm set back!

It is an awful feeling when you have done so well then having to take a few steps back. I was doing really good with recovery. I had started moving around, stopped the pain pills, started driving and trying to get back into the swing of things then I started coughing. My allergies are bad so the sneezing was horrible but the coughing ended up being bronchitis. Thankfully, I didn't tear anything but I did stretch the internal stitches. I was put back on bed rest with even more meds. Now I'm trying again. I had a little discharge with blood flecks and the dr said that was ok. He said watch for more blood, vomiting or fever. Any of that is cause to go in immediately. Try to relax and take care of yourself.

Thank you all for your comments. I have an appointment to see the Dr. this afternoon. The Medical assistant told me even if there is no blood I still have to be seen just to make sure everything is still okay. I'm feeling really nervous about what he will see.
