From Lavh to Vaginal

Just some positive vibes for all the pre ops! 2 weeks since my surgery and doing great. Zero on the pain scale and never would guess I had surgery.

My dr planned lap and when I awoke I was told he was able to do a total vaginal procedure. He said he never knows until his patients are out if he can do it properly, hence he doesn't even mention it as a possibility. I had no adhesions and a few small fibroids; I had the procedure for reoccurring polyps and also had last pap come back as HPV positive.

My thoughts are maybe you can just mention to your drs before surgery that you'd like him to check out that when you're under and see if it might be a possibility for you.

Doesn't hurt to ask and the recovery is much easier if every thing goes according to plan.

It is interesting that your doctor did not share that he would try to do a TVH (total vaginal hysterectomy). Many ladies go into OR with a planned TVH. I am glad it all worked out for you and you are happy with the outcome!

As a new be sure to get lots of rest, walk as you are able, and drink plenty of fluids! You only have one chance to heal right the first time!
