Still shaky .........

Hi all,
Well I am now on the other side of the fence as I had my LAVH last thursday. Mydoc managed to save 1 ovary but took the rest of the equipment.
It was a surgery that my doctor described as extremely difficult as he said it was like working with concrete inside due to the mess of endo and so much scar tissue he said it was like a spider web! It was supposed to be 1.5 hours but I was in surgery for 3 hours and then in recovery started to hemorrage so they had to unpack me, clean out the clots and repack me....thank god for morphine!
This from the head of my gyno dept! He siad he was so surpised as my ultra sounds didn't show how bad it really was.

I thas been a very tough last few days and now I have what looks like thrush in my mouth due to all the drugs.....back to the doc I guess..........
I am a little concerned with the sweating as I wake up soaking wet and this low grade fever or hot flashes it is turning me into a walking heat lamp.

Is there anything else I should be looking forward too going thru.

Thanks in advance
Mandy
ps back to bed and lots of toradol!

Hi Mandy, I hope you feel better soon. The best thing to do is to drink lots of water and juices and rest, rest and more rest. There can be lots of surprizes after surgery, hopefully you won't have anything more. I know what you mean about the hot flashes, get yourself a small fan and sit in front of it when they hit, thats what i do and it helps. I keep my bedroom really cool at night when I sleep and that helps me not have as bad night sweats. I still sometimes have to get up and change my clothes and the sheets.
I hope your recovery is smooth, rest is a key to feeling better faster.

Look forward to healing and feeling better.

I can tell you the thing that has suprised me the most is how well I feel can change very quickly. I can wake up feeling really, really crummy, but then in the afternoon have some time where I feel almost normal, or the opposite can happen, where I wake up feeling great and then things go downhill pretty quick.

I think I have learned (read I HOPE I have learned) that when I feel crummy I need to stay down. When I feel great.. I need to stay down (at least for now). Give yourself time to heal.
