So angry at doctor's staff right now

The hospital cancelled my Monday pre-op appointment today because my doctor's office staff told them that they were going to fax over the needed paperwork, but never did. So now I have to wait until Wednesday for my pre-op. Might not sound like a big deal, but it's like an act of congress for me to get time off of work for anything, and these people are constantly billing me for visits that I've already paid for, etc. They had to type up the surgical consent forms three times before they got the wording correct.

To top it all off, my department manager tells my project manager that from now until my surgery, he would like me to work 12 hour days so things are in good shape before I leave.

Uh, no. I'm not taking a vacation. I'M HAVING MAJOR SURGERY. I'M SICK. I'm in constant pain, my energy is low, so having me work 4 extra hours a day will not be happening.

Thank you, ladies, for letting me vent.

Re: So angry at doctor's staff right now

How awfully frustrating for you! It's bad enough to be going through these medical worries without pressure from work and inept medical staff!! I've had problems too. The paper work I got through from the hospital says I'm having a "Total Laparoscopic Abdominal Hysterectomy". What the .... ??? Sometimes I wonder if any of them know what they're talking about.

If I was you, I'd try and get to a Dr and get a note to say you're only allowed to work a certain amount or need to be on restricted duties or something. It is soooooo unfair of you bosses to expect you to work so many extra hours when you are unwell and facing major surgery

*big gentle hugz* Take care of yourself.

Ugh... so sorry you have to go trough all that. As for your employer, it's really sad that he don't understand about it not being a vacation. Can you say no to working 12 hour days? Maybe show him a short note from your doctor or something?

Re: So angry at doctor's staff right now

I would have the doctor give restrictions on your job and also file for FMLA to protect your job. I applied for that.

A shame you're having pressure from the clueless people at your work and the really rude people at your doctor's.

Hang in there!
You will feel less stressed after your pre-op and all your questions are answered.

Very sorry about what's going on at work. Try not to let it stress you more!
