Day 4 post hysterectomy (1/13) ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
I had laproscopic hysterectomy on Jan 13th.....has anybody else experience pressure in lower abdomen when sitting up straight.....when i eat i have to sit so my belly is sitting between my legs like im pregnant.....i have stomach pain when i eat as well.....sometimes mild sometimes bad....
I did move my bowels on day 3....but the gas seems to play games like i feel it come down like im gonna pass gas but then it wont come out....im scared to force it.....but i try to push a lil and it doesnt budge til its ready.....this is crazy.
I have manage to go without pain meds most of the day and just tolerate the pain.....but night time is the worse....woke up moaning for a while til the meds kicked. So i think i will just take the pain meds before i go to bed at night....because once that pain hit its like i cant sit lean or lay no way for comfort. Im learning the difference between the gas pain and surgery pain.....cuz together they were attacking me like a football team....but im walkn to get relief from the gas pains up & down my hallway.....and that helps a lot.

Re: Day 4 post hysterectomy ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
Have you tried taking gas x? My surgery was also on the 13th and I have taken 2 gas x a day since and it has helped relieve the gas. I have also felt the pressure when eating and have taken it very slow.
Hope that helps

I took gas x and pain meds around the clock the first week, then switched to Ibuprofen. You are going to be in quite a bit of misery for a while but it gets better every day. Don't be brave, take pain meds and rest! You just had a major surgery, it will take quite a while to heal.

Day 4 post hysterectomy (1/13) ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
I (unfortunately lol) know the answer to this as it was me to a T. Few tips....
1-walk around (or pace the room lol) at least 10-15 mins every hour, helps the trapped gas.
2-Keep up on the gas x and eat light soft foods (soup was my BFF haha)
3-And this was the biggest relief; work on getting your bowels working properly any way you can- stool softener, water, ANYTHING, once that system starts working right again you'll feel like a dif person! (Luckily Im sensitive to ice cream so I just had a scoop each day I was having probs ) Also, once i quit the pain meds it only took a couple days for things to clear out- they always work against the system. Good luck and feel better!

Day 4 post hysterectomy (1/13) ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
I had pains when eating also day 3 and 4 , it's gone away. I'm day 6 now. I had literally 4 bowel movements yesterday and my gosh what a difference. I was all stopped up. I am taking dulcolax 2x a day, hubby got me gas x as well. Been staying w 2 cups by me, 1 w water and 1 with herbal tea. hydrate hydrate hydrate. I hope you get relief soon! it will pass once you get those bowels moving. I never strained hard I just sat for half hour at a time on the toilet. Don't rush yourself out. Xo

Day 4 post hysterectomy (1/13) ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
I have the pressure and weight that you describe, but without the pain. I found out yesterday that I have to watch what and how much I eat so that I don't get a stomach ache. The heavy pressure definitely increases as the day goes on.

Re: Day 4 post hysterectomy ... pressure in lower abdomen and stomach pain when eating
Seconding GasX, with an added stool softener. Also, I drank kefir and ate yogurt. The bacteria in your digestive tract will be lower than usual because of the antibiotics used in surgery, and that can cause extra gas. I wish I had started with the yogurt right away, instead I was a goon and waited until 2.5 weeks!
