Two types of discharge

I am 3 weeks post-op and i have two different discharges. During the day it is light brown but in the evening and at night it is pale pink to pale range. I had a TVH (still have both ovaries) with A/P repair and a bladder sling.

Re: Two types of discharge

Brownish discharge can be older blood while the pale pink can be newer blood. As one increases her activity level, there can be an increase in discharge. Also, if one over does it, there can be additional discharge.

Some bleeding and spotting can be normal during the full 4-6 weeks of recovery as part of healing. Unless there is bright red bleeding that fills a pad an hour, you should be fine.

However, never hesitate to contact your doctor with your questions and concerns, especially if the discharge is accompanied by pain, fever, or other symptoms.

Re: Two types of discharge

I had a Lavh with a posterior repair too. I am a week postop and I too have different discharges. Like you had said mine is brownish in the am but then goes to a pinkish by the end of the day. I do notice that I get more discharge when I am more active during the day. If you are really concerned about it I would call the doc but I think that it is normal. I do know they said if I get really itchy down there to call cause it could be a yeast infection.
