Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Hello. I was reading the post about cystocele, rectocele, etc... I have a question for any and all of those who have experience with stuff like this.
I haven't had my PAP yet, haven't even scheduled it because I'm awaiting the arrival of my insurance card. So, in the meanwhile-Do those of you who've suffered prolapse recall having a sensation that your insides were falling out after sex? I mean, I can feel and see something bulging out of my vagina and all, but could it be something else? The first thing I ever noticed going wrong was that my inerds felt as though they would be floating in the toilet when I pee after sex. It is so uncomfortable! It's not quite as bad now, but sex is not near as common a thing for my hubby and I now either. So, I'm asking for some of the early and late experiences of prolapse of anything. Please! When I first noticed the bulge, I got online and found somewhere that said a doctor would be able to tell if there was rectal involvement by having the patient stand and strain as though having a bm while the doctor's fingers were inserted in the vagina. If the bulge came down further...there was rectal involvement. So, (I know I'm weird, but with no insurance what else could I do!) I did that to myself. I felt the bulge lower. So, I tried the Keigel excercises and they helped but not completely. Now that I have insurance, I'm going to have something done about whatever it is. Just PLEASE give me some info whilst I wait? Thank you!!!!!
HUGS,
Stacey

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Stacey,
I had a 3rd degree prolapse, while I never noticed a bulge, Sex was very painful. By time I had my LAVH, I felt pressure on a daily basis. I was scheduled for a rectocel my dr. decided against it, he felt it would correct itself after the uterus was gone. Good luck to you.

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Cherri,
Hi. Thanks for your response. Sex is almost always painful, though I can't say if it's the endo or whatever else I've got going on down there! My period is whacked out too, I barely bleed anymore and I might have up to three a month or skip a month (though that hasn't happened in a while). Did you notice any changes in your cycles that you feel were related to your prolapse? Thanks!
HUGS,
Stacey

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Hi Stacey
I had a prolapse of my uterus but nothing else. I could feel my cervix coming out of my vagina. It wasn't uncomfortable all of the time but I was uncomfortable during my period and sometimes when I sat I could feel it. Also tampons never stayed in -it was a pain.

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
csafrica19,
Thanks for sharing that. My most uncomfortable time is after sex. Also, in the shower(I have a moveable shower head) when I rinse the soap off of myself, it hurts REALLY bad when the water sprays me and hits the bulge. (I know, probably too much information, but I'm only rinsing!!!)
What was done about your prolapse? Did the hysterectomy take care of it?
HUGS,
Stacey

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Hi. I will be having my uterus out, but haven't yet. My doctor hasn't diagnosed a prolapse yet, but I am quite certain that's what it is. Good to know I'm not the only one having these symptoms though!! HUGS

Question about possible uterine prolapse...
Thanks for your reply, I am concerned with having my cervex removed because I have heard some bad things as result of that. Let me know how things go with you and I will do the same.
Take care.
