hysterectomy scheduled for Jan 23, 2013

I am 35 & having thoughts about switching the type of surgery. Right now it is scheduled for total vaginal, but wondering about LVH. my reason for the hyst is because my periods have been getting heavier to the point of needing to leave work and other appointments. My periods have NEVER been regular. My period symptoms are now worse as each period comes. I only ever feel good or "normal" one to one & a half weeks a month. I had a biopsy done which shows fibroids. My mother went thru all this as well as her sister & mother at this age. My husband is not exactly a fan of this surgery, but i know i will feel so much better right??

Re: hysterectomy scheduled for Jan 23, 2013

I had a DVH/BSO on November 19th and I felt so much better within the first week. My severe pelvic, abdominal, and back pain were gone. I just had the normal pain I would have expected after surgery. I followed my physician's orders carefully and my recovery has went well. I just want to encourage you that you can feel so much better and will be able to get out there and enjoy life.
