Hysterectomy On Monday (1/5) and sick

I know it all boils down to what the doctors think is best but I was wondering if a cough and sore throat could cause my surgery to be cancelled? I really can't afford to wait for another 2 months to get this surgery done. However I also understand safety comes first. Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Surgery On Monday and sick

My surgery was 12-19-14 (2 weeks ago) an I had a sore throat an coughing also congested an I had surgery. My Dr didn't seem concerned which I was but I couldn't wait either I had already planed it an took the time off work an all so I really needed to get it done an I got it done an had no issues. Went into surgery fine an came out fine.

Re: Hysterectomy On Monday (1/5) and sick

I was sick with mine. I let the dr know a week earlier and he prescribed me some antibiotics. I think each doctor is different. Just so you know though, if you sneeze it hurts like heck! Also blowing your nose won't be pleasant. Coughing was my worst nightmare. If you can put it off, I would advise you do.
